Susan J. Leff
Coordinator, Psychosocial Services
A Certified Social Worker since 1993, Susan Leff specializes in helping patients address the emotional, psychological and social components of chronic pain.
As a Social Work Supervisor for Bronx Municipal Hospital Center, Mrs. Leff was responsible for the clinical management of profoundly ill patients. During this time, Mrs. Leff provided counseling to a client population that included burn victims, pain patients, CCU and ICU patients and their families.
At Pain Management & Rehabilitation Medical Services of New York, Mrs. Leff complements Dr. Leff's medically based therapies and treatments for chronic pain by helping patients address the emotional, psychological, and social dimensions of the condition. Chronic pain is an experience that can deeply affect an individual's entire social foundation and network. By helping patients address the emotional, psychological, and social dimensions of their medical condition, Mrs. Leff helps patients take a necessary additional step towards managing their chronic pain.
Mrs. Leff is a graduate of the college of Saint Rose in Albany, New York, and received her Masters in Social Work from Arizona State University in 1987. Mrs. Leff is a member of the American Pain Society, Eastern Pain Association and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
